XYBASE WINS THE BEST AODB PROVIDER AWARD

26 February 2002, Amsterdam – ATTIS EXPO 2002 at the Rai Amsterdam was indeed a momentous event for XYBASE as they were bestowed an internationally recognised award, the ATTIS SUPPLIER AWARD for the best Airport Operational Database (AODB) Provider
ATTIS (Air Transport and Travel Information Systems) events are organised by Aviation Technology Communications, which is based in London. ATTIS Expo is noted as the World’s biggest air transport IT event. This annual event has been running for over 10 years. However, due to the change in demands from the industry, the show has developed into a One-Stop Shop for the Aviation industry.
“We are indeed proud that we are recognised worldwide” said Suhaimee Abu Hassan, the CEO of XYBASE. “Our efforts in developing the AODB and constant improvements on our products and solutions, attributable to new requirements such as airport security and the emergence of new technologies, has paid off” added Suhaimee.
The Airport Operational Database (AODB) is a comprehensive central repository centre for airport operational data management. It provides the efficiency of a central database with a guaranteed consistent operational performance. AODB not only enables centralized data processing and integration but it is also designed to be scalable and reliable in a high availability and safe database environment.
XYBASE has implemented the Airport Operational Database in Kuala Lumpur International Airport in June 1998 and Ataturk Airport in Turkey in 2000 and has been in operation ever since.
“The high efficiency central management process of AODB requires low maintenance and it pretty much runs on its own” said Zainuddin Georges Abdullah the Technical Director of XYBASE. “The AODB is designed and developed with security and scalability in mind. It caters for a wide range of data from operational data and revenue capture, to producing information for strategic management” added Zainuddin. He was present at the ATTIS Expo in Amsterdam to receive the award and also was the speaker in the conference on the topic of new security systems integration for airports both internally and externally.
