XYBASE SHOWCASES SOLUTIONS VIA LABORATORIES

Kuala Lumpur, March 26th 2002 - XYBASE today announces its efforts in research and development in the arena of Information Communication and Technology by putting up showcase laboratories worldwide. 

The objective of the lab is to showcase the XYBASE products, services and more importantly its capabilities and skills. The lab demonstrates its efforts in R&D in emerging and leading technologies. These laboratories will also be a platform for XYBASE to deploy systems for testing the newer versions of applications, new applications and prototypes.

Beginning with Stuttgart, Germany, XYBASE has put up a laboratory at the NCB office as a proof of concept with the airport operators and other industry players such as banking. XYBASE has recently signed an MOU with the German company for collaborative business ventures focusing on all major German speaking European countries. This lab in NCB is a marketing initiative resulting from this MOU.
The second showcase laboratory on tow is situated in Dubai at the XYBASE Middle East office, which will be geared, to cater for the Middle East market. Apart from airport solution, the lab will showcase other solutions such as the XYBASE Message Broker and portal application solutions. The prime laboratory will be in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, which will be opened in May 2002. 

Apart from proof of concept, the facilities are available to current and potential clients to have hands-on experience in the solutions provided. The conceptualisation strategy of showcase laboratories is in line with the XYBASE business development plan. The capital expenditure is well worth it, as these laboratories will also serve as an investment in providing facilities environment to serve customers. XYBASE will be partnering with its system suppliers and business partners to set up the laboratories. Due to space constraints, simulators of applications will be used to create a complete solution showcase especially on total airport solution, as XYBASE’s forte lies in airport solutions. Part of the lab will be modelled after an airport information operations flow to create an integrated airport solution environment. In addition to simulators, LCD screens will be used to display physical and logical workflow of airport. 

Among the systems to be showcased are airportXpert, the complete airport solution by XYBASE, XYBASE Message Broker which can be used across industries with high volume transactions that require real-time response, Flight Information Display, Ground Handling Systems, Gate Allocation System, Retail Management System and Portal Systems.
