MAJOR SPONSOR FOR 2002 MALAYSIA SEVENS RUGBY TOURNAMENT

Kuala Lumpur, April 19th 2002 - Once again, XYBASE is sponsoring in the name of rugby. Held at Senja restaurant in KLCC, XYBASE today signed an agreement with Rugby Events Promotions Sdn Bhd.

Present on behalf of XYBASE was none other than its President, En. Suhaimee Abu Hassan, an avid rugby fan and Malaysian Rugby Union was represented by its President, Yang Berbahagia Dato' Hj. Talaat Hj. Hussain while Rugby Events Promotions was represented by its President, Yang Berbahagia Dato' Sri Ram Sarma.

The agreement detailed the rights and licenses to XYBASE as a major sponsor for upcoming Malaysia Sevens rugby tournament. The tournament will be played over two days, on April 27th and 28th at the Petaling Jaya Stadium. The tournament has received tremendous international interest, and will be broadcasted live over ESPN and TV New Zealand. Other television stations in Europe, South America, South Pacific Islands, Australia and Asia will also be broadcasting the tournament highlights or televising it delayed.

Among the countries participating this year are New Zealand, Fiji, England, Australia, South Africa, Japan, Samoa and Malaysia.

"The XYBASE name is synonymous with rugby," said En. Suhaimee. As a major sponsor, XYBASE will be providing cash contribution for the tournament, Canterbury apparel and food and beverage in kind. 

This prestigious tournament has also appointed Senja Catering, a business unit within RetailWorks Sdn Bhd, a XYBASE related company, as the Exclusive Food & Beverage Concessionaire Holder for the event.
