Department of Environment (JAS) had invited MIMOS to undertake Web Based System Application Development. XYBASE has been appointed as a system developer for 2 of the 5 systems to be developed by MIMOS that is the EIA Database System and GIS Application System.

EIA Database System
There are three main modules in EIA Database System; Review Panel module, EIA Approval Process status and reporting, and Compliance of EIA conditions Module.

EIA Approval Status module is to enable JAS Process Officers to view and update the approval status of EIA reports. Through this module JAS HQ is able to monitor more closely the approval process of Preliminary EIA Reports received by state branches as well as Detailed EIA Reports received by JAS HQ.

Compliance of EIA Conditions Module is developed to allow JAS enforcement officers to view and update the result of enforcement visit on a particular EIA project through web.

GIS Application
This web-based GIS application enables JAS personnel to utilize and execute GIS functions through the Internet. It will allow a wider range of users to use GIS technology without having to go to GIS lab or dedicated GIS machine. Using this application, JAS users will be able to view maps and attributes of an area that related to the environment such as pollution sources, environmental quality, highlands' activity, water intake level, activities at river basins and EIA project locations.
