Description:
This is a state-of-the-art meteorological system that provides facilities and information to the airport meteorologist for weather forecasting. The system is capable of collecting the weather parameters automatically and providing automatic weather related product dissemination. This system comprises of various sophisticated sub-systems such as:
Meteorological Data Processing System (MDPS),
This sub-system originates from wXstation, which was developed by Sonalysts Inc. The software is capable of ingesting multiple data sources and generating multiple products.
Terminal Doppler Radar (TDR),
Terminal Doppler Radar System is an important system in airport meteorology. This system can detect accurately wind shear and microbust which conventional radar system cannot detect.
Automatic Weather Observation System and Automatic Weather Station (AWOS/AWS),
This system provides weather parameters along the runways. These information are extremely important for the pilot during the landing or take off.
World Area Forecast System
Geostationary Meteorological Satellite (GMS)
The GMS - Ground Receiving System will receive from Japanese Meteorological Satellite which has footprint covering Asia-Pacific region. The satellite images will assist the meteorologist to forecast more accurately.
Aviation Briefing Terminal (ABT) System.
This is the data dissemination system for the entire meteriological system. This system has terminals scattered in the airport at the users' premises. |
